Sutherland police arrested a woman who fled the scene of an accident at Menai earlier this month.
Police said the Menai woman, 50, lost control of her car at the intersection of Menai Road and Alfords Point Road on January 4 at 11.50am.
Her car continued over a pedestrian refuge and collided with a car waiting at the lights.
She drove off without exchanging details and police were called.
No one was injured.
Sutherland police found the woman and her car at a house in Schofield Place at Menai.
Police said she was consuming alcohol and assaulted officers when they tried to arrest her.
She was taken to Sutherland police station where she refused to submit a breath test.
She also refused to give more details about the collision.
She was charged with assault and resisting police, refusing to submit to a breath analysis, being a responsible person not disclosing driver’s details, not give particulars to another driver and altering the concentration of alcohol before being tested.
